Hair Smiles In Tokyo!

The latest fad in gal style (or gyaru, ganguro, or one of the other many monikers) is to make a point to hide one's visage at the moment the camera snaps.  The goal here is not clear, though I personally agree with the author's argument that this seems to be another way in which gyaru are differentiating themselves, rebelling against what is expected of them.  Or, perhaps it is done to define their community among themselves.  Anyway, this micro-trend is kind of cute and hilarious and makes us want to image google more gal looks!
